Cultural Umbrella *

Many children in Chicago’s neighborhoods see downtown as distant and unwelcoming. The Cultural Umbrella changes that by introducing kids ages 3–13 and their families to the city’s cultural treasures — from theater and museums to ballet and symphony.

Early exposure sparks curiosity, builds confidence, and creates shared experiences that strengthen family bonds. What begins as discovery becomes a source of pride, belonging, and a lifelong connection to Chicago’s cultural life.

We Seek Visionary Partners

We are approaching one of those rare times and chances to redefine who we are as a city — but we need to be bold. We need to use and maximize the tremendous cultural assets of Chicago for generations to come.
